Hula Hoop Dance is a beginner-friendly structured fitness class (1hr). It includes a warm-up with stretching, hooping techniques for on-body (waist hooping), and some off-body hooping (basic hand maneuvering tricks), a free flow jam, and closes with a cool down. I incorporate upbeat music to make for an opportunity to let go and have fun all while getting fit.
Hooping is considered a low-impact, aerobic exercise that has the potential to aid in weight loss. Time spent hooping will increase your heart and breathing rates, elevate your body temperature to bring out the sweat, burn calories, and, as with other types of aerobic exercise, improve your body's ability to absorb glucose. Increased muscle tone, improved flexibility, and enhanced balance and coordination are also benefits associated with hoop dance ...AND Hula hooping is FUN!
No experience necessary. Hoops are provided for class use.
